Manchester man charged with endangering the welfare of a child after gun was allegedly found in car with three unattended children

MANCHESTER – Manchester Police responded to Walmart at 725 Gold St. on Monday for a report of three young children unattended in a vehicle.

Police located the vehicle and found the three children, ages 9, 1 and 8 months, in the back seat. The car was locked and running. Witnesses told police the children had been alone for approximately 20 minutes.

Soon after officers arrived, a man identified as 27-year-old Tyler Kennedy came out of Walmart, and over to the car. Through the course of the investigation, police learned that a loaded gun was also in the car. It was located in a backpack that was accessible to the children. A knife also was located in the bag.

Based on what police observed, there was probable casue to arrest Kennedy on three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
