‘Bob’ Robert Allan Stawasz

Jul 14, 2023

“Bob” Robert Allan Stawasz, 74, of Nashua, is now telling jokes in heaven after passing away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Tuesday morning, July 11, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA.

Bob was a devoted and loving husband, father, and Grampy. He was a voracious reader, collector of Nashua historical memorabilia, and lover of good wine. He enjoyed going to estate sales with his wife Arlette, air shows, vintage car shows, taking pictures of wildlife, gardening, drawing, and puns.

A lifelong resident of this city, Bob was born in Nashua on December 29, 1948, a son of the late Frank P. and Geraldine C. (Hartigan) Stawasz. Educated in local schools, Bob was a graduate of Nashua High School Class of 1967. He attended St. Anselm’s College and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State College in 1973.

Bob began his career with the New Hampshire Liquor Commission in 1974. He worked at Nashua liquor stores at Railroad Square, Coliseum Avenue, Daniel Webster Highway South and Amherst St for many years, including as a manager, until his retirement. His favorite years were working for Liquor Law Enforcement.

Members of his family include his wife of 49 years, Arlette (Brideau) Stawasz, whom he married on July 13, 1974. They had obvious love for each other. He leaves behind a treasured family: his three daughters, Lydia Soleil and her husband, David of Atlanta, GA, Emily Soleil and her husband Kevin of Lowell, MA and Alice Stawasz of Manchester; four grandchildren, Ocean, Meadow, Canyon and River, and Dee Wolfson held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind his three siblings and their spouses: Thomas P. and Maryann Stawasz of Nashua, Patricia L. and Mark Radwan of Milford and Christopher H. and Lara Stawasz of Hollis; nephews and a niece: Benjamin, Jack, Anna and Matthew. He also had treasured in-law family: Paulette and David Denenberg, Louise and Robert Melanson, and nephews and nieces: Marc, Michelle, Daniel, Jonathan, Erick, Eric, Julie, Kevin and Brian. He will also be missed by many beloved friends and acquaintances.

There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, July 23rd, 2-4pm. Location can be found at: www.farwellfuneralservice.com where you can also leave an online message of condolence or a pun. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gateways Community Services, https://tinyurl.com/GatewaysDonation.

Arrangements are in the care of the Farwell Funeral Service, 18 Lock Street, Nashua.
