High School Highlights: Nashua South boys soccer blanks Spaulding

BOYS SOCCER

NASHUA SOUTH 3, SPAULDING 0

Jadiel Bonfim, Ethan Emata and Rory Olsen found the back of the net in the Panthers’ shutout win. South plays Londonderry on Tuesday in its home opener.

MERRIMACK 3, SALEM 2

The Tomahawks opened up a new season with a home win. Kyle Egan scored two goals and Carson Papp had one goal and two assists. Goalie Drew Flanders made seven saves. Merrimack visits Timberlane on Tuesday.

GOFFSTOWN 4, BISHOP GUERTIN 2

The Cardinals couldn’t hold off Goffstown’s second-half charge, resulting in a loss. Alvaro Escartin and Rayaan Hameed each scored for the locals. Guertin was leading 2-0 at halftime. BG hosts Keene on Wednesday.

MILFORD 6, MERRIMACK VALLEY 0

The Spartans opened the season with a decisive shutout win at home. Ryon Constable and Goran Junior Skoric had two goals apiece, while Bernard Glusac and Conor Sullivan had one each. Aden Cremonini played very well in midfield as did Zachary Naun at the back. Avery Wilson had a clean sheet in goal. Milford visits Manchester West on Tuesday.

SOUHEGAN 1, KINGSWOOD 0 (2OT)

Ryan Fillion scored in the 97th minute to give the Sabers the win on opening night. Goalie Ryan Lockitt made six saves. Souhegan visits Lebanon on Tuesday.

GIRLS SOCCER

ALVIRNE 4, WINNACUNNET 3 (OT)

Paige Boudreau knocked in the game winner on an excellent cross from Hannah Sellingham. Maddie Bertrand and Amber Gagnon had assists in the contest. Lyla Davis, Alyssa Scharn and Jaime O’Connor played well on defense. Alvirne visits Concord on Thursday.

MERRIMACK 4, SALEM 1

Isabella Saxon (one goal, two assists) tallied three points to lead the Tomahawks over the Blue Devils. Cara Sullivan led the goal scoring with two and Kailey Dillon added one. Alex Therrien and Lucy Cote each added an assist. Molly Perkins made eight saves in net. Merrimack’s home opener is Tuesday against Timberlane.

MILFORD 3, MERRIMACK VALLEY 3

Emily Lloyd, Aline St. George and Marissa Sage each scored in the Spartans tie. Sarah Sawyer, Carol Rainio and Keely Giordono played great defensively. Milford has its season opener Tuesday against Manchester West.

BISHOP GUERTIN 1, WINDHAM 1

Hailey LeBlanc scores the lone goal in the Cardinals season opening tie. BG visits Pinkerton on Monday.
